Nature
Coastal Flysch platforms at Algorri. In Zumaia, 6 km away, guided trips can be made, taking advantage of the low tide. It is one of most interesting areas of the Bay of Biscay. Flysch, iridium layer and a great wealth both geologically and biologically.
Izarraitz mountain range 6 km away
Pagoeta Natural Park, 10 km. Beech woods. Picnic and recreation areas. Old, restored iron forges and flour mills, guided tours.
Ekain cave, 4 km away
Cliffs along the whole length of coast between Zumaia and Deba, with wild beaches such as at Sakoneta, 2 km away.
Culture

The three temples route. Loiola, Arantzazu and can be visited in one day. In each there are guides to explain historical details, etc. Nearby villages - very typical of inland Gipuzkoa - can also be visited.

Museums & other centres: Gugenheim in Bilbao, Txillida-leku in Hernani, San Telmo Museum and the Aquarium in San Sebastián, Zuloaga and Behobide museums in Zumaia.
Music. Important musical fortnight in Zumaia in July. Jazzaldia in San Sebastián.
Gastronomy. Visit the Old Quarters of surrounding localities as well as the provincial capital, Donosti-San Sebastian, to taste typical pintxos (bar counter tapas). In the fishing villages you can taste fish prepared in different ways, there being very good restaurants in the whole area.
